When my good friend and fellow event planner, Elisa, texted me and Kayla to let us know her plan about surprising our lovely Amanda with an engagement party she unleashed Pandora's event planning Box!
When you have three event planners throwing a small party how can it not be adorable?! And what is even better is we just happened to have coordinating decorations and gifts with out even planning. What is it they say, great minds think alike?
Since Elisa was hosting, she was in charge of decorations. She set up her Christmas tree perfectly simple with just lights. This a was a perfect location to put our gifts for Amanda. (Notice we all had the same colors for gifts!) She also hung a Mr and Mrs banner over her couch so the bride to be could have a throne of wedding bliss to open her gifts. Kayla added to the decoration with wedding themed confetti that added a fabulous splash of color to the food table.
I planned on some apps and of course La Marca Prosecco! I decided to spruce up the champagne by adding a splash of cranberry juice and an orange slice as a garnish. Elisa even had matching straws! Kayla had a wonderful assortment of tasty sweets to enjoy after some Trader Joe's Lemongrass Chicken Sticks (mini egg rolls, awesome with their sweet chili dipping sauce!)
Now for the surprise!
Elisa had invited Amanda over for a sleepover since both of their SOs were out of town. The perfect excuse! We arrived at Elisa's about half and hour before Amanda was supposed to arrive to get the apartment ready for the grant entrance. When we heard the knock at the door we could hardly contain our excitement as we waited for her to round the corner so we could scream SURPRISE! Once she recovered from the shocked we checked out her beautiful ring and made her tell us every detail of the proposal. We chatted more about her wedding plans as we ate our snack and cheers our champagne before having her open our presents. It warmed our hearts that Amanda had a smile on her face from the moment she walked in until the moment we left.
It was so easy to pull this off within a few day and not at all expensive. I would say, with the exceptions of the gifts, the whole thing cost under $150 and took about an hour to set up. Hosting in your home can be as simple or as extravagant as you want and still be gorgeous!
