You may know in 2011 I was a bridesmaid for my good friend Brittney. Brittney did not hire a wedding planner but did an amazing job planning her wedding. I didn't see her crack under pressure once. What I did see was her aunt miss her ceremony because she was at the reception site setting up. No one had informed Brittney set up was not included in the rental costs. Brittney’s aunt had to set up the reception and missed the ceremony.
I don't want this to happen to you too! So even if it is just a Day Of Coordinator, this is why you should hire a wedding coordinator:
Contract review. Venue, caterer, photographer, florist, band… you could have as many as ten contracts to review depending how many vendors you need to make your vision come to life. A wedding planner knows what to look for in a contract to ensure the bride and groom have all their bases covered.
Insider knowledge. Speaking of vendors, a wedding planner has connections and will know how to get you a great deal or the best vendors in their area. This will also save you a lot of time in the early stages of planning.
Timeline. Wedding planners will have a detailed timeline for the day. This will be given to vendors and even the wedding party; and the planner will ensure that it is followed that day. Not only does this keep things organized, their timeline may have things you would have forgotten to include.
Save a family member or a friend the time commitment. If you have designated the planning to friends or family, they risk missing out on core moments of the wedding because they were problem solving.
Save yourself some stress! You don't want to have to answer everyone’s questions on the big day or hunting down your vendors. You want to be a guest yourself and let your wedding planner get their hands dirty.
