Wedding Planning Advice for the Recently Engaged

I was recently asked to give my top three pieces of advice to newly engaged couples. It was surprisingly easy to come up with my top three and I want to share them with you!

Number one, of course, is to hire a wedding planner. Most couples don't realize how stressful a wedding really is or how to make those Pinterest perfect images come to life for their own wedding.  Most planners offer three levels of service: Day/Month of Coordination, Partial Planning and Full Planning or Design. Discuss how much you want to do on your own and how much you'd like your planner to help you with, then hire a planner. You really won't regret it.

Number two is to research and interview you not just your wedding planner, but all of your vendors.  I have had couples rush to hire a vendor they thought they really liked later to find another vendor they wish they had hired. Even though the first vendor was great, they felt the second vendor fit their personality better.

Last, but definitely no least, enjoy being engaged. Most couples start planning right away and may have other life moment happening as well, such as buying a home. Make sure you set aside time and money to spend some time together. Plan date nights with eachother or mini staycations to enjoy being engaged!
